Rutherford College is looking for an experienced and passionate Commerce educator ready to lead and inspire? We are seeking a dynamic Teacher in Charge of Commerce to join our Social Sciences Department. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of Commerce education at Rutherford College.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Commerce department with vision and energy
  • Develop and teach a junior programme encompassing Financial Literacy, Business Studies and Commerce.
  • Teach Economics up to Year 13 to a high standard
  • Deliver engaging lessons in line with the New Zealand Curriculum
  • Support students' academic growth and foster a love for business, accounting, and economic thinking
  • Contribute to curriculum development and department planning
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support school-wide goals

Requirements:

  • Proven experience teaching Economics at senior levels (including NCEA Level 3)
  •  A deep understanding of the NZ Curriculum and assessment frameworks
  •  Strong communication and organizational skills
  •  Ability to motivate and lead a team of educators
  • Current NZ Teacher Registration
