Fraser High School is seeking a passionate and experienced Hauora Centre Manager to lead our student wellbeing initiatives and support the holistic development of our young people. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of student support services in a dynamic and inclusive school environment.
About the Role
As Hauora Centre Manager, you will be at the heart of our clinical and medical pastoral care team, driving programmes that foster resilience, emotional wellbeing, and academic success. You’ll lead a dedicated team of guidance counsellors, medical staff and support staff, collaborate with whaanau and community agencies, and ensure our students receive the highest quality care and guidance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all guidance counselling programmes and initiatives.
Provide individual and group counselling, including support for high-risk students.
Collaborate with school leadership, teachers, and external agencies to support student wellbeing.
Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with NZAC standards.
Advocate for students in external settings including Oranga Tamariki, Police, and health services.
Uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in all aspects of your work.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in counselling.
NZAC membership and commitment to ethical practice.
Proven experience (minimum of 8-10years) working with youth aged 12–18.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Cultural competence and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Ability to work flexibly, including outside school hours when needed.
Current Teacher registration is advantageous.
