 For the successful applicant, this role comes with the opportunity for up to 2 one year fixed term management units (Maternity Cover for 2024) depending on strengths and experience. 

We are looking for an English teacher to join our collaborative, collegial and diverse team. We are hoping that the successful candidate will also be an exceptional or aspiring curriculum leader to join our English curriculum leadership team for a fixed term role in 2024. We are looking for someone who can work with our team to refine and develop our localised English curriculum at Manurewa High School. Our English courses are a product of collaborative planning and resourcing, so you will need to be someone who can continue to work collaboratively and collegially with our English & Media leadership team and the wider department. You must be a relational and student-centered practitioner who demonstrates effective classroom practice. 

The parameters of the role would be negotiated with the successful candidate, but could involve: 

• Teaching a range of junior and senior English classes. 
• Working collaboratively and collegially with the English Curriculum Leadership Team and the wider English & Media Studies Team.  
•  Supporting staff to collaborate in course design, planning, and resourcing. 
• Supporting assessment, moderation, and tracking systems within a range of English courses. 
• A commitment to mana oorite moo te maatauranga Maaori and equity for all aakonga. 

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Secondary Teachers Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $54,989 to $90,000, depending on applicant’s qualifications and experience. Individuals actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
