English Language Learners (ELL) Teacher - fulltime, fixed term

Due to our roll increase we seek a skilled and committed educator who is: 

  • A registered teacher with an ESOL qualification – TESOL, CELTA, TOFEL or similar
  • A team player who will work collaboratively and contribute positively
  • Passionate about teaching secondary Pasifika and migrant/former refugee ākonga/students
  • Uses English Language Learning Progressions (ELLPs) to support planning, teaching, assessment and transition
  • Cognisant of the need to support ākonga/student transition and progress along their pathways
  • Experienced working in a digital learning environment
  • Keen to foster whānau and community relationships to support ākonga/student learning
  • Willing to support te reo me ona tikanga Māori and the restorative and culturally sustaining practices of our kura.

For overseas teachers looking to relocate to New Zealand to teach, the terms and conditions including base salary for this position is set by the relevant collective agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $59,305 to $95,400 depending on the applicant's qualifications and experience. Individuals' actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
