School Caretaker position available

Marist College is a Catholic school for girls situated in Mt Albert with students ranging from Years 7 to Year 13. We are currently seeking to employ a Caretaker who is a self initiator, practically minded, competent and who will fit into our College environment and take care of various maintenance jobs required to keep the school running, as well as carrying out a defined list of daily duties and tasks.  

A current clean drivers licence is required, great time management and the ability to interact appropriately with students, staff and the Marist community. A police check will be required. This role is full time (40 hours per week), from 7:30am to 4pm. Pay rate as per the School Caretakers’, Cleaners’, Canteen and Ground Staff Collective Agreement.

The role will include:

  •  Keeping the school property clean & tidy exterior & interior
  • Attending to daily duties as per the Caretakers Duties 
  • Reporting property defects to the Property Manager
  • Understanding Health & Safety requirements as relevant to the school
  • Maintaining machinery & tools in good order and condition
  • Being available to assist for school events that arise during the year
  • Keeping workshop clean, tidy & safe
  • Understanding and managing the school’s property ticketing system
  • Resolving basic technology issues 
  • Resolving property related issues in conjunction with the Property Manager
  • Effective communication skills with staff & students
