School Counsellor

Rutherford College is a well-resourced co-educational secondary school with a roll of approximately 1400 students. We believe in building respectful, meaningful relationships within our community aligned with our Values of Respect, Responsibility, Integrity and Excellence.

We have a part time permanent position (4 days per week, days  negotiated) for a counsellor to join the counselling department and wellbeing team at Rutherford College. 

To succeed in this role, you will have previous counselling experience, preferably in a school setting, be hardworking and effective in your practice. Candidates will need to belong to NZAC or a similar association. Essentially, you will have a sound understanding of the ethics of secondary school counselling. This role is primarily focused on providing quality counselling and mental health services to a wide range of students. 

Applicants must be prepared to contribute to the culture and wider life of the school by facilitating student-led groups and working creatively with students and staff to promote wellbeing.
